The Eye of the Cyclops from Forge of Ice

Created by Alex Bates

The Eye of the Cyclops is a system agnostic RPG sourcebook for tabletop games, and these miniatures are for use with it - as well as an assortment of other figures from the game setting, a Lost World called Azor.

US Miniatures shipping update!
over 3 years ago – Sat, Nov 21, 2020 at 10:39:26 AM

Hello everybody!

I'm happy to say that the miniatures for all the US pledges are now in the mail.

There's still plenty left to do, of course - specifically the international miniatures and then the book, but I thought this was an occasion worth mentioning.

The UK and the EU will be next, then the rest of the world.

The miniatures that are going to the UK and the EU are being shipped in one big box to Fenris Games (Fenris carries my range in the UK), who will then be forwarding everything to individual backers via the Royal Mail.

That's about all I've got to say for now - I'm slowly chipping away at the to-do list, making incremental progress. Thank you all again for your patience.

Everyone will get everything that they ordered.

The last US miniatures pledges, all boxed up and ready to go.

Shipping is in progress!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Sep 10, 2020 at 05:17:13 AM

Hello everyone!

Shipping of the miniatures is in progress!

I've seen in the comments that some people have already gotten their miniatures - the picture above is the batch of packages I took to the post office earlier today.

I'm working my way though the US pledges first - the rest of the world will follow immediately afterwards.

Once the miniatures have all shipped out, the next step will be sending the books (and .PDF's) out to everyone.

I'm still chipping away at this in bite-sized chunks, but progress is steadily moving forward.

Once again, I thank you all for your patience.

The miniatures have arrived - sorting and prepping to ship pledges!
over 3 years ago – Wed, Aug 05, 2020 at 11:25:00 PM

Hello everyone,

I've got an update here that I know some people will be happy to hear about: the castings have arrived, and I'm sorting them and prepping them to ship.

The figures sorted and counted!
More miniatures, ready to be sorted and checked.
The guard captain!

It's about 6000 individual castings, but I'm getting through them.

I'll post an update again once shipping has begun.

Thank you again for your patience!

A minor update
almost 4 years ago – Tue, Jun 02, 2020 at 02:08:14 AM

Hello Everyone,

This project is not forgotten or abandoned, I am still working on it.

Much like in January, I don't have a lot to report, which is why I have been reluctant to post anything.  I can say that several of the new miniatures that were made available through Backer Kit (the Pterro-Men and the Shadow Apes) have been finished.

Pterro-Men sculpted by Des Hanley, painted by Andrew Taylor. They were first made available through the Cyclops Backer Kit

The good news that you'll be happy to hear is that the last of the metal miniatures are being finished up at the caster right now and I expect to have those in hand within the next three weeks, barring postal disruptions. I've been delaying posting an update until I had those castings in hand so I could post a picture, but, I didn't want to wait any longer to post something.

I expect to begin shipping miniatures as soon as I have them in hand and sorted out. I will post an update as soon as I get the shipment of castings in.

One thing I would like everyone to do is to please double-check the mailing address that you have listed with Kickstarter or Backer Kit - if you've moved since the project began, please be sure that your listed address is current.

In regards to refunds, they are simply not possible at this time. The artwork has been paid for, the sculpts have been paid for, the moldmaking and casting have been paid for, layout and design of the book has been paid for.  There is no money available for refunds, but every backer will get everything that they paid for.

I thank you for your patience and understanding, and I look forward to getting these miniatures onto all of your tables soon.

Sincerely,

-Alex Bates

Ending the year with some forward progress.
about 4 years ago – Tue, Dec 31, 2019 at 10:31:30 PM

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all having an excellent holiday season.

I had hoped to have this whole thing finished and fulfilled by now (long before now!), but it's not there yet.

However, I can end the year on a positive note with some solid forward progress - the maps are done!  The book will have two maps in it, one of the Five Cups tavern, and another of the Temple of the Eye.

I printed part of the map out at full size, just to see how it would look with minis on it - I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Adam Bradshaw has done a fantastic job with these - they look good printed in the book, but are high-resolution enough to be printed out at tabletop size, too.

Five Cups to the Goddess, an old warehouse that's been converted to a seedy tavern and inn.

I don't want to once again predict a finish date and be wrong, so I'm very hesitant to make a forecast.  All I can say is that I'm making progress, I'm working on it, and I expect to be done soon.

I'll also mention that the book will be longer than advertised in the Kickstarter - the manuscript is currently significantly longer than that, and while I'm not sure exactly what page count it's going to be edited down to, it's going to be more than 30 pages.  I've also recruited a whole posse of people to help with the packing and shipping once I've got the miniatures in hand.

I'd like to thank you all again for your patience, and I hope you all have a safe and fun New Year's Eve.
